Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has issued an official statement announcing a one-time bonus of 1.9 million rubles (approximately Rs 18,41,697) to the city residents on joining the army. A salary of Rs 49 lakh has been promised to the new soldiers in the first year of joining.

Not only this, if someone gets injured in the war, he will be given between 4 to 9 lakh rupees in cash for treatment. If a soldier is killed while fighting with Ukraine, then the family will be given 28 lakh rupees.

The UK Defense Ministry said on July 12 that more than 70,000 soldiers have either been killed or injured in the Ukraine war between May and June this year. Russia wants to have more than 22 lakh active soldiers in its army. After the war with Ukraine, Russia has increased its army by 15%. Now this is the second major expansion, for which Russia is spending a huge amount. Under this, it has recruited 15,000 Nepalis.

A Nepali soldier, on the condition of anonymity, said that currently soldiers from Afghanistan, India, Congo and Egypt are taking training in the Russian army.
