Taliban Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttaki is on a 6-day visit to India. He held a press conference today at the Afghan Embassy in Delhi.
Foreign Minister of Afghanistan’s Taliban government, Aamir Khan Muttaki held a press conference in Delhi on Sunday. Women journalists were also invited in this. Earlier, women journalists were not invited to the press conference held on Friday.

Important points of Muttaki’s press conference…
1. On women’s education-
Muttaki said that a total of 1 crore students are studying in schools and other educational institutions in his country, which includes 28 lakh women and girls.
This education is also available in religious madrassas up to graduation level. There are limitations in some areas, but that does not mean they are against education.
Women’s education has not been declared religiously haram, rather it has just been postponed to another time.
2. On reopening of Indian Embassy
He met the External Affairs Minister of India and discussed economy, trade and other issues. During the meeting, India’s External Affairs Minister announced that India will upgrade its mission in Kabul to embassy and diplomats from Kabul will soon come to New Delhi.
3. On trade, flights and investment with India
During the meeting, India’s External Affairs Minister announced to increase the number of flights between Kabul and Delhi. Additionally, the two sides reached an agreement on trade and economy.
Afghanistan invited India to invest especially in minerals, agriculture and sports sectors. Chabahar port was also discussed in the meeting. Afghanistan requested opening of Wagah Border, which is the fastest and easiest trade route between India and Afghanistan.

Muttaki said that Afghanistan has invited India to invest in minerals, agriculture and sports sectors. Apart from this, development and use of Chabahar port was also discussed.
He appealed to India to open the Wagah Border, as it is the fastest and easiest route for India-Afghanistan trade.
5. Expressed grief over the death of Indian journalist
Muttaki expressed grief over the death of Indian journalist Danish Siddiqui, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2021. He said that no journalist was injured in Afghanistan in the last four years. We are saddened by every death.
He said that for 40 years, Soviet, America and NATO occupied Afghanistan, but now the country is independent and stands on its own. There is no problem in Afghanistan and everything is fine there.
6. No problem with Pakistani people, but people are creating trouble
Muttaki replied to Pakistan’s questions in Urdu. He said- We have no enmity with the people of Pakistan, but some people create trouble.
He told that in response to Pakistan’s mischief, Afghanistan had started an operation, which was stopped with the help of Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He said talk to us, we want peace, otherwise we have other ways.
Muttaki said that Pakistan Taliban (TTP) is not in Afghanistan, but Pakistan will have to stop its terrorist groups. Pointing towards the Taliban flag, Muttaki said – This is our flag. For this we fought jihad.
