Meanwhile, local farmers, fishermen and employees evacuated more than 15 people to try their level best. Following the instructions of CM, the NDRF team left from Agra late in the night. The NDRF team took charge at 5 am on Friday morning. Took out 5 dead bodies.

3: 10-hour rescue operation by Jal Nigam team

The most important ground response at the incident site was that of Jal Nigam officer Alok Tiwari and his team. Alok Tiwari told that as soon as the information was received, he immediately left with the team. On reaching the spot, we saw that the cruise had completely sunk and there was darkness and chaos all around.

He said that machines like JCB, Poklane and cranes were immediately installed. Continuous operations were carried out to rescue people trapped under water. Working amidst strong wind and darkness was extremely challenging. The rescue went on non-stop for about 10 hours. Many people were evacuated in coordination with the local police.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has taken a major administrative decision in the entire state after the accident. All cruise, motor boat and water sports activities have been stopped in Madhya Pradesh with immediate effect.

Safety audit of all water transport means has been made mandatory. Permission to operate will be given only after reviewing safety standards. The government has made it clear that now compromise on security will not be accepted at any level.

5. High level investigation committee formed, three senior officers included

The government has constituted a high-level committee to investigate the accident in depth. The committee includes Director General, Home Guard and Civil Defense, Secretary, Madhya Pradesh Government and Commissioner, Jabalpur Division. This committee will investigate the circumstances under which the accident occurred, why safety protocols were not followed and what were the flaws in the cruise operation. Based on the report, responsibility will be fixed and strict action will be taken.

6. Many responsible officers and employees were removed

Immediately after the accident, action has been initiated to fix responsibility. In this case, the services of cruise pilot Mahesh Patel, helper Chhotalal Gond and ticket counter in-charge (FOA) Brijendra have been terminated.

Sunil Maravi, manager of Hotel Maikal Resort and Boat Club Bargi, has been suspended on charges of negligence. Regional Manager Sanjay Malhotra has been attached to the headquarters and a departmental inquiry has been started against him.

Yogendra Richharia, an official of the Tourism Department, said that currently only one cruise was being operated in Bargi Dam, which was built in 2006. Its capacity was 60 passengers. Another cruise is in bad shape.
