A minor dispute that took place while watching the match being played between India and New Zealand during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup took a serious form. The incident took place in Jakkopur village of Mahnar police station area, where a young man was beaten to death on Sunday evening.
Actually, some youth in Jakkopur village were watching the India-New Zealand T-20 match on TV. Meanwhile, when one of India’s wickets fell in the match, a young man present there raised a loud noise. The other young man got angry about this and an altercation started between the two. Within no time the dispute escalated so much that the accused youth threw Kudan Kumar on the ground and hit him hard on the head.
17 year old Kudan Kumar was seriously injured in the attack. After the incident, the people present on the spot hurriedly took him to Mehnar Community Health Center for treatment, where after first aid, the doctors referred him to Sadar Hospital Hajipur in view of his critical condition.
Even in Hajipur Sadar Hospital, due to his critical condition, the doctors sent him to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for better treatment. But the injured teenager died on the way to Patna.
The deceased has been identified as Kudan Kumar (17 years), father Brijkishore Rai, resident of Jakkopur, ward number 18 of Municipal Council Mahnar.
There is anger among the family members of the deceased after the incident. The family members have demanded early arrest of the accused. Here, after the incident, there is a situation of tension in Jakkopur village.
SDOP Mahnar said that the accused involved in the incident has been identified and raids are being conducted for his arrest.
