Zelensky has visited America thrice in the last 9 months.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with President Trump at the White House on Friday. During this time he demanded new weapons to fight Russia. However, Trump expressed hesitation about giving long-range missiles to Ukraine.
Regarding Tomahawk missiles made in America, Trump said that we would like Ukraine to not need Tomahawks. He said that America wants the war to end.
However, Trump made a deal with Zelensky to give thousands of drones to Ukraine in exchange for Tomahawk. Trump agreed to this but also said that giving long-range weapons to Ukraine would further increase the tension between the two countries.
He said that a strong security guarantee is the most important thing for the people of Ukraine, Zelensky said. For them, NATO membership is the best guarantee, but at the moment weapons are very important.
