According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a warning of rain and hail has been issued in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Along with this, a similar warning has also been issued in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Delhi. According to the department, the weather is likely to remain like this for the next 3-4 days.
Here, rain warning has also been issued in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. There are also chances of hailstorm in the eastern region of UP. Earlier, due to heatwave in these states the temperature had reached 40°C.
In the northeastern states also, the rainy season has continued continuously for the last several days. The weather department said that the weather will remain like this for a few more days. The department said that due to active western disturbance, some drop in temperature will be recorded but after a few days an increase in heat will be seen.
Clouds have started appearing in Kedar valley of Rudraprayag. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain and hail.
What is Western Disturbance…
Western disturbance is a weather system that brings rain, snowfall and cold winds to the northern and northwestern parts of India. It is called Western Disturbance in English.
It is a group of wind and clouds which moves from the west (from Europe, Mediterranean Sea region) and comes to India via Afghanistan-Pakistan. When it reaches India, it causes rain in North India and snowfall in the Himalayas.
