Banks will remain closed in many cities on Monday (August 26) on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. However, there is no stock market holiday tomorrow. This auspicious Hindu festival, which marks the birth of Lord Krishna, is celebrated with great enthusiasm by Hindus around the world.

According to the BSE website, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain open for trading on the occasion of Janmashtami. The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also trade normally in both the morning and evening sessions tomorrow.

Banks will remain closed in many cities due to the festival
According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) annual bank holiday list, banks will remain closed in many cities on August 26 due to the festival. Tomorrow banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Odisha, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Srinagar, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh.

  • Gandhi Jayanti – October 2
  • Diwali Laxmi Pujan – 1st November (Muhurat Trading will be conducted)
  • Guru Nanak Jayanti – November 15
  • Christmas – December 25

The market was booming on Friday
Today, Sunday (25 August) and yesterday, Saturday (24 August), the market was closed due to holiday. Earlier, the market was open on Friday (23 August). On the last trading day of last week, the Sensex closed at 81,086 with a gain of 33 points. Nifty also rose by 11 points, it closed at 24,823.
