An old building collapsed on Saturday in Chandigarh’s Industrial Area Phase-2. There is a possibility of some people being buried under the debris. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and surrounded the area. Relief and rescue operations have been started. The building was built on plot number 28/9. Scrap work was going on in this building. There were four people inside the building when the lantern fell. Two of which were immediately expelled. While the owner and his laborer are trapped inside. Teams of Chandigarh Police, Prashasan and Disaster Management are busy at the spot. MP Chawla said that this building was very old. Because of that its roof has collapsed. After this our teams reached the spot. Two people were fired immediately. But what they came to know was that two people who were on the first floor were buried under. Till now the administration teams have reached them.
