Scientists have solved the 500 year old mystery related to Christopher Columbus. He told on Saturday that the human remains found in the Cathedral of Seville in Spain are those of Columbus. Along with this, research revealed that he was a Sephardic Jew from Western Europe.
According to Reuters report, scientists have confirmed this after DNA analysis. He died in 1506 AD. Columbus wished that he be buried on the island of Hispaniola. Therefore his body was taken there in 1542. After this, his body was taken to Cuba in 1795 and finally his body was buried in Seville, Spain in 1898. His body was taken to many places, so it was difficult to find out where he was during his last days.

Research done from DNA of Columbus and his son Lorente told that he had a DNA sample of Columbus. Apart from this, he did this research with the DNA sample of Columbus’s son Hernando Colon. There are signs of Jewish origin in Hernando’s DNA. Catholic rulers Isabella and Ferdinand ordered Jews and Muslims to convert to Catholicism or leave the country. Before this, about 3 lakh Jews lived in Spain. This research was shown on Spain’s national channel TVE on Saturday in the program Columbus DNA: The True Origin.
