Kejriwal had vacated the CM residence at 6, Flagstaff Road after his resignation. He was seen going by car with his wife, parents and children.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday put the Central Government in a delay in alloting the bungalow to former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Justice Sachin Dutta said that the government’s attitude is like a ‘free system for all’. Who will get a house, who does not, this government cannot decide in a select way.
In fact, in one of its petitions, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded a directive to Kejriwal to allot government housing in Delhi. The AAP claimed that it wrote a letter to the Center for the first time on 20 September last year. After that a reminder was also sent, but no action was taken.
The AAP said that Kejriwal had vacated his government residence on October 4, 2024, 6, Flagstaff Road, after stepping out of the post of Chief Minister. Since then, he has been living in the government residence of a party MP near Mandi House.

Before resigning from the post of CM, Kejriwal was 9 years in 6 Flagstaff Road bungalow, from 2015 to 2024.
AAP Boli- Gave Kejriwal bungalow to someone else AAP counsel Rahul Mehra told the court that in May this year, BSP supremo Mayawati vacated the bungalow at 35 Lodhi Estate. The Center’s lawyer sought time to receive instructions on the party’s proposal to allot this bungalow to Kejriwal.
Mehra claimed that the central government counsel repeatedly sought time citing the absence of ASG and later the bungalow was allotted to someone else. The AAP counsel also accused the central government’s lawyer of keeping the case hanging in the court during the last two hearing.
The AAP said political parties, under the rules of allocation of housing from general pool, have the right to a government house in Delhi. Provided that they have neither their own house nor have they been allotted houses due to being in any post.
The Center said- when possible, housing will be allotted Presenting on behalf of the Center, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma admitted that the bungalow 35, Lodhi Estate, was allotted to a Minister of State. He said that no political party can demand the allocation of a particular bungalow for anyone.
Citing a long waiting list for government houses, Chetan Sharma said that when possible, Kejriwal will be allotted housing. On this, Justice Dutta expressed displeasure and said that on the one hand you ask to postpone the hearing of the case and on the other hand 35 Lodhi Estate also allotted someone else.

Kejriwal hugged employees while leaving CM. His wife handed over the key to the officer to the officer.
Court said- Waiting list cannot interrupt bungalow allocation Justice told the Center- you are not interested in this matter. The same thing happened last time. Waiting list cannot obstruct bungalow allocation. Even before the waiting list, no one has been delayed in getting the bungalow.
The High Court told the Center that when you allotted 35 Lodhi Estate to the Minister of State, tell the exact date. Also directed the Center to submit a record of the policy of allotment of bungalow allocation from residential system and waiting list by 18 September.
