These days, a video is going viral on social media, in which it is being claimed that now balloon-like puri can be made not in a pan, but in a cooker, even without oil. In the video, a woman sprays a little oil inside the cooker and then adds 4-5 puris and closes the lid. After some time, when the cooker is opened, completely puffed puris are seen coming out of it. Many people were surprised to see this hack and started calling it a new cooking trick.
But as this video reached people, questions started being raised about its authenticity. Actually, according to the basic science of cooking, it is necessary to deep fry the puri in hot oil to make it puffy. As soon as the surface of the puri comes in contact with hot oil, it gets cooked immediately and steam starts forming inside, due to which it puffs up. It is considered almost impossible for puris to rise like this in a cooker without oil.
