Prime Minister Narendra Modi met CP Radhakrishnan on Tuesday night. He congratulated him on being elected Vice President.

Controversy has started in the cross voting case of opposition MPs in the Vice Presidential election. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and TMC MP said that I came to know that the BJP has spent Rs 15-20 crore to buy every MP of the opposition.

At the same time, the BJP said that cross voting shows internal differences and divide in the opposition alliance. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said tightened, saying, “Thanks to some MPs of the India alliance, who voted for NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan on ‘Awaaz Ki Awaaz’.”

In the polling held on Tuesday, 767 (98.2%) of MPs cast their votes. Radhakrishnan got 452 votes and Sudarshan Reddy got 300 votes. 15 votes were declared invalid. NDA candidate Radhakrishnan defeated India candidate Sudarshan Reddy by a margin of 152 votes.

There is speculation of cross voting in favor of at least 14 opposition MPs in the election. Actually, NDA had 427 MPs. Radhakrishnan was supported by 11 MPs of YSR Congress. By adding them, only 438 votes are formed. But Radhakrishnan has got 14 more i.e. 452 votes.

BJP said- 15 MPs voted for NDA candidate

In fact, the BJP claims that there have been 15 cross voting from the opposition parties and some opposition MPs deliberately cast their invalid votes. After voting, the opposition claimed to unite all all 315 of its MPs. However, this did not show this in the results.

Secret voting takes place in the Vice Presidential election

The party whip does not apply in the Vice Presidential election and voting is done by secret ballot. Nobody knows who voted for who. However, MPs vote according to the party line and alliance. For this reason, the possibility of cross voting within the opposition remains a matter of concern before Bihar and Tamil Nadu elections.

Who said what on cross voting ….

Manish Tiwari (Congress): If there is cross voting in the election, then every party of India alliance should investigate seriously. This is a very serious matter. If there is any truth in this, then systematic and fair investigation is necessary.

Tejashwi Yadav (RJD): We did not have any cross-voting. 9 MPs of RJD voted for the India alliance. Whatever happened or not, the leaders will see it in Parliament.

Supriya Sule (NCP): If the voting was secret, then how did the BJP know who voted for.

Arvind Sawant Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction): Are MPs who invalid votes, are they educated or foolish? Did he vote with his conscience or his votes were purchased? The BJP has sown seeds of betrayal. All agencies are BJP slaves. They must have blackmailed on the basis of these agencies.
