The results of by-elections on 13 assembly seats in 7 states of the country have come. By winning 10 seats in the score board, India Block has given a big blow to BJP which had won 2 seats. BJP has suffered the biggest setback in Bengal, where it had to face defeat at the hands of TMC on 4 seats, that too when BJP had won 3 out of these 4 seats in Bengal in the last election. The second big defeat has been in Badrinath seat of Uttarakhand. Congress has also given a shock to BJP in Himachal.
Celebration of victory in India Block
This was the biggest test for political parties after the Lok Sabha elections, in which the India Block has defeated the NDA. The results of the by-elections on 13 assembly seats in 7 states have given the India alliance a big opportunity to celebrate. In Bengal, TMC has made a splash by winning all four seats, while both seats in Uttarakhand have gone to the Congress. In Himachal too, Congress has hoisted the victory flag on 2 out of 3 seats, while the only seat in Punjab has fallen in the lap of AAP. DMK has captured the only seat in Tamil Nadu.
Badni Nath also said so be it Congress: Harish Rawat
India Block has had a great victory in the by-election. Harish Rawat said about BJP’s defeat in Badrinath that God and nature punish extremism. India Block’s victory in Ayodhya, the land of Lord Ram, is very important. Now the victory in Badrinath has also confirmed it. With the victory in Badrinath, Lord Vishnu has said Amen Congress. You will see, the time will come, we will win from Kedarnath as well. Rahul is a devotee of Shiva and he will get the blessings of Kedarnath as well. Now BJP’s extremism will not work.
The people of the state have rejected the politics of horse-trading: CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu
On the other hand, in Himachal, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said, ‘People have defeated money power and people’s power has won. The people of the state have rejected the politics of horse-trading and have voted to maintain political transparency in the state. He said that the Congress candidate has won in Dehra after 25 years and in Nalagarh also the Congress candidate has won by a big margin. Now in Himachal Pradesh, no party will be able to muster the courage to do the politics of horse-trading in the coming 50 years and this message will go from the state to the politics of the entire country.’
By-election score card
Talking about the score card of the by-elections, out of 13 seats, 10 seats have gone to India Block, 2 seats in favour of NDA and 1 seat has gone to others. BJP’s performance has been poor and this is a matter of concern for the party. BJP has won only 2 seats. The biggest setback came in Bengal where BJP lost all 4 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party had to face humiliation on both the seats of Hindi belt i.e. Uttarakhand.

BJP was able to win only Hamirpur seat in Himachal and Amarwara seat in Madhya Pradesh. Here the workers celebrated with great enthusiasm but for the party stalwarts these results are going to be a cause of worry. The big reason for this worry is that now by-elections are going to be held on 10 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh and this will be a big litmus test for BJP.
A day before this, the Maharashtra MLC election held on Friday proved to be auspicious for the NDA. In the election held for 11 seats of the Legislative Council in Maharashtra, good news came for the NDA when all its 9 candidates won on 9 seats and the Mahavikas Aghadi got only 2 seats.
This is a good sign for the Mahayuti before the assembly elections in Maharashtra this year, but the results of by-elections on 13 seats in 7 states will further boost the morale of the India Block. On the other hand, this is a sign of the beginning of another round of brainstorming for the NDA.
Who were the new MLAs elected on which seat in the by-election.

In the 2023 assembly elections, Congress had won the Amarwara seat, but Kamlesh Pratap later joined the BJP, after which this seat became vacant.
By-elections are to be held in UP too, why is this path becoming difficult for BJP
The results of the by-elections of 13 assembly seats on Saturday have become a matter of concern for the BJP. Actually, assembly elections are to be held in UP in the year 2027, but the litmus test of its results will be done in the by-elections to be held now.
Political turmoil is not stopping in UP
Let us tell you that, after the Lok Sabha election results, the stir in the political corridors of UP is not stopping. BJP is constantly engaged in reviewing the election results. It is also investigating the reasons for the poor performance at the ground level, but amidst these efforts, the attitude of some BJP leaders is becoming harsh, which is posing a new challenge to the party in UP.
BJP MLA warned his own party
The latest statement is by BJP MLA Ramesh Mishra from Badalpur seat of Jaunpur in UP, who released a video and clearly described the party’s situation in the state as bad and said that in such a situation, the party’s victory in the assembly elections would be difficult. BJP MLA Ramesh Mishra has made a big claim and said that, ‘According to the current situation, our party will not form the government in 2027. As soon as Ramesh Mishra’s statement came out, the opposition parties have got a big opportunity to attack the BJP.
BJP MLA presented clarification
However, Ramesh Mishra has issued a video and clarified that his statement has been presented in a distorted manner. People of Samajwadi Party are making it an issue but this was not my intention. No one can stop the BJP government from coming to power again in 2027.
The party and the organization are uncomfortable with Ramesh Mishra’s statement
BJP MLA Ramesh Mishra’s statement has put the party and the organization in an uncomfortable position, and has also given a big opportunity to the opposition leaders to attack the UP government. SP leader Sunil Singh Sajan attacked the BJP and said, ‘Ramesh Mishra is saying that PDA will defeat BJP, is it a lie? This PDA has halved the BJP, this is the one that will clean the BJP in 2027.’ On the other hand, Congress leader Surendra Rajput said that this is just the beginning of discontent.
Former minister of UP government has also given warning
However, Rajesh Mishra is not the first leader who has tried to alert the party. Earlier, former UP government minister Rajendra Pratap Singh alias Moti Singh had also raised the issue of corruption in police stations and offices from a public stage. Now, on the basis of such statements of BJP leaders, the opposition is trying to corner the Yogi government.
That’s why UP by-election is becoming a challenge for BJP
BJP’s performance in UP was not good in the Lok Sabha elections and the NDA alliance could win only 36 seats out of 80 seats in the state. On the other hand, the opposition parties are very excited after winning 43 seats in UP. Akhilesh Yadav is calling such statements of BJP leaders the effect of PDA’s move and is also claiming BJP’s defeat in the upcoming elections. By-elections are to be held on 10 seats in UP in the coming time. After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, these elections are also very important for the BJP, but such statements of party leaders just before the by-elections are sure to increase the electoral challenge.
