‘इंसान हूं, मुझसे भी गलतियां हुई होंगी…’, कोहली-रोहित संग रिश्तों पर कोच गौतम गंभीर का बड़ा कबूलनामा

Indian men’s cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir has admitted for the first time that he could not handle his relationships with legendary batsmen Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in a better way. Speaking at the Revsportz Conclave held in Kolkata on March 16 (Monday), Gambhir admitted that he may have made some mistakes in the last one and a half years, but his intentions were always right.

Gautam Gambhir Said, ‘I am human and I should also be allowed to make mistakes. Players also have the right to make mistakes, I too have made mistakes in the last 18 months and I do not shy away from it. But I always believe that even a wrong decision taken with the right intentions can be accepted, but a decision taken with wrong intentions is absolutely not acceptable in the dressing room.

Gautam Gambhir further said, ‘As long as I can stand honestly in front of my dressing room and look into his eyes and talk, I feel that I am fulfilling my responsibility properly.’ Just a few months after Gambhir became the coach, two of India’s most experienced players Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma decided to retire from Test cricket.

This decision came after the disappointing performance of the Indian team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Apart from this, India also got completely opposite results to the expectations in the Test series against New Zealand. In such a situation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reviewed the performance of the team and implemented some new guidelines.

Rohit Sharma And after Virat Kohli’s retirement from red ball cricket, a period of change started in the Indian Test team. Young players started being given more opportunities and the captaincy of the team was handed over to Shubman Gill. Under Gambhir and Shubman, India drew the Test series on the England tour and defeated West Indies at home. However, the team had to face a crushing defeat in the two-match Test series against South Africa.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are now playing only in ODI format for the Indian team and both have their eyes on the 2027 World Cup. However, the team management and selectors have made it clear that his place in the World Cup team will not be decided automatically and the selection will be done purely on the basis of performance.
