20 year old Surendra Singh Choudhary ‘Bittu Tabahi’ from Madhya Pradesh, who is cleaning the river alone, has been offered a job by the Netherlands organization ‘The Ocean Cleanup’. The founder and CEO of the organization, Boyan Slat, was impressed by Bittu’s hard work and wrote – Work with us. The Ocean Cleanup company works to remove plastic waste from oceans and rivers. Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen also praised Bittu. He said that change begins when a person stops waiting for others and takes the initiative himself. The water of Ajnar river originating from Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh was used for drinking and irrigation, but due to increasing pollution it turned into a dirty drain. Bittu clarified it and shared the pictures on social media, after which they went viral. CM Mohan Yadav also met him on Friday. Pledge for cleanliness was taken on 26th January: Bittu took a pledge to return Ajnar river to its old and clean form on 26th January this year. Initially some friends also came with him, but due to the difficult and tiring work, they gradually withdrew. After this Bittu continued cleaning alone. He used to go down to the river every morning and stay in the water for hours, collecting garbage with his hands. After about three months of hard work, the picture of the river changed. Now instead of garbage, clean water is seen here. Also installed JCB, spent money from his own pocket. Apart from investing his time and effort in cleaning the river, Bittu also spent money. He spent money from his own pocket and got a JCB machine installed to remove heavy garbage from the deep parts of the river. After telling their parents that they are going out to play cricket, Bittu and Krishna say that they have been uploading reels of river cleaning on social media accounts for two and a half months.
