Premier League side Nottingham languish in the 17th place on the table following their 0-2 defeat to Newcastle on Sunday as new boss Ange Postecoglou looks to turn things around at Forest.
Following the conclusion of the Forest’s game against Newcastle, a reported quizzed Postecoglou if he’d be able to turn things around if he were given the adequate amount of time.
Postecoglou touched up on the modern tendency to do away with anything that doesn’t work right away and bring in changes when they might not be required essentially.
“No, its’s a lost cause,” Postecoglou jested before going on to answer the question.
“I mean, seriosusly, what is wrong with something being hard?” Why do we want everything delivered so nicely packaged?”
“I’m sure your parents had a struggle in their life, right? And they did not give up,” the Australian said.
“You may have even been a lost cause at some point, but they didn’t give up on you, right?”
“I’m not having a go at you here, please don’t take it that way,” he clarified.
“It seems to be these days, as soon as something goes wrong, well that’s it. It’s wrong. We’ll change it, we’ll break it up,” the former Spurs boss added.
“Everything that needs to be fixed, is invariably going to go through a tough time,” he asserted.
“This is not unfamiliar territory for me as I said,” Postecoglou concluded.
Postecoglou helped Tottenham to their first title in nearly two decades last season as he led the London club to the UEFA Europa League crown with their win over Manchester United before being given the boot by then Tottenham chief Daniel Levy.
Postecoglou was roped in by Forest as a replacement for Nuno Espirito Santo, who parted ways with the club despite a statement showing last season due to differences with owner Evangelos Marinakis.
