The Supreme Court questioned whether the High Court issues similar orders in other cases, expressing that the High Court’s approach was troubling. The bench also questioned the understanding of the High Court judge and described the bail order as a possible perverse exercise of discretion.
“We are examining whether the High Court applied its mind judiciously while exercising discretion; that is our main concern,” the Supreme Court said.
Addressing Pavitra’s lawyer, the court remarked sharply, “All this has happened because of you. You are the root cause of the problem.”
