‘We Had To Do It Right’: Trump Says War On Iran Aimed To ‘Wipe Out Evil’

US President Donald Trump stated that the war on Iran aimed to eliminate “evil,” citing Iran’s role in violent killings.

US President Donald Trump on Friday said the war on Iran was to wipe out what he described as “evil”, adding they have been killing people in the “most violent” way.

“We did this excursion. We had to do it—wipe out evil… they’ve been killing people in the most violent way. The roadside bombs all over the place, 95% of them are from Iran… people have waited for 47 years for it to happen, so we have to do it right”, Trump said in an interview with streamer-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

The statement comes amid an escalating conflict in West Asia, following the February 28 US-Israeli strikes on Iran and the subsequent retaliatory attacks by Tehran across the Gulf nations.

In an interview with Fox News, President Trump unleashed a fresh salvo at Iran, asserting the United States is “totally destroying” Tehran.

He said the American forces would be carrying out intense strikes against Iranian targets in the coming days. “We’re going to be hitting them very hard over the next week,” Trump told Fox News Radio.

While the President acknowledged that it would be difficult to overthrow the regime, he expressed confidence that it “will happen, maybe not immediately”.

“I really think that’s a big hurdle to climb for people that don’t have weapons. I think it’s a very big hurdle… It’ll happen, but… maybe not immediately,” he stated.

When Will The War End? Trump’s Response

President Donald Trump said the war would end when “I feel it in my bones” and assured that the American economy would soon return to what it was before he launched strikes on Iran.

“This will bounce right back when it’s over, and I don’t think it’s going to be long,” he said.

Iran Refuses To Back Down

On Thursday, Iran issued the first message in the name of its newly-appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, warning the attacks against Washington would continue and that Tehran would not forget the “blood of martyrs”.

The threat came just days after Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in joint US-Israeli strikes, a development that marked a dramatic escalation in tensions across West Asia.
