WBCAP 2025: The online registration began today, June 18 at the official website, wbcap.in, and will continue till July 1.

The West Bengal Higher Education Department has introduced the West Bengal Centralised Admission Portal (WBCAP) 2025 for undergraduate admissions. The WBCAP 2025 portal will facilitate admissions to undergraduate programmes in 460 government and government-aided General Degree Colleges and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and 7229 courses.
“The Presidency University, Jadavpur University, Autonomous Colleges, Minority Educational Institutes/Colleges, B.Ed., Law, Fine Arts and Performing Arts, Crafts, Dance, Music Colleges/Courses, colleges offering Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical courses and Self-financing/Private colleges shall be out of the purview of the Centralised Admission Portal in the Academic Session 2025-2026,” reads the official notice.
WBCAP 2025: Where To Apply?
The online registration began today, June 18, and the last date to apply July 1. Eligible students can apply via any of the official websites – banglaruchchashiksha.wb.gov.in, wbsche.wb.gov.in, or directly through wbcap.in by selecting the “Centralised Admission” option. Notably, there is no application fee for registration.
WBCAP 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Any student who has qualified (10+2) or equivalent examination from any recognised Board/Council/Equivalent body can apply for admission to the Undergraduate Courses. Applicants are allowed to apply for up to 25 programmes or courses across various Higher Educational Institutions in the state, with the ability to prioritise their selected programmes or institutions.
WBCAP 2025 Schedule
As per the official schedule, the merit list and seat allotment will be published on July 6, 2025, with admissions based on seat allotment taking place from July 6 to 12, 2025. The seat allotment for the upgrade round will be announced on July 17, 2025, and admissions for the upgrade round will occur between July 17 to 20, 2025. Physical verification at the institution level will occur from July 24 to 31, 2025, and classes will begin on August 1, 2025.
The entire admission process will be strictly merit-based, with no counselling sessions or document verification needed at the institution level during the initial admission process. An applicant will get the scope of upgrading to higher available preference. Applicants do not need to be physically present at any stage of the admission process.
