US President Donald Trump remarked that the Iran-US war could “end very quickly” at his address at the 2026 White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday. Trump also stated that Iran’s response to the 15 point proposal drafted by regional mediators was a “big step” but was not “good enough.”
The US head of state said that people speaking on behalf of Iran “are more reasonable now” and reiterated that Iran could not have a nuclear weapon.
Trump engaged in rare praise of the Iranian armed forces calling them “capable fighters and very tough people” but reiterated that deadline of Tuesday set for the true was “final.”
“The enemy is strong, not so strong like they were about a month ago,” he remarked.
Trump repeated his ultimatum of demolishing Iran’s bridges and power plants if it did not “yield” to the US. He also stated that he was interested in taking the country’s oil reserves. The US President also further stated that the American people would like for US forces to “win and come home”.
“Because it’s there for the taking, there’s not a thing they can do about it. Unfortunately, the American people would like to see us come home. If it were up to me, I’d take the oil. I’d keep the oil. I would make plenty of money,” he said.
Trump said that Iran still has some missiles and drones left and that the Iranian people would fight the current administration when it is safe for them. He also stated that the Iran War would “hopefully be over quickly” and said that there may be multiple alternatives.
“We could leave right now and it would take them 15 years to rebuild what they had. We could leave right now but I want to finish it off,” Trump said.
