Vijaypat Singhania, the former chief of Raymond Group and Padma Bhushan recipient, died at the age of 87, on Saturday.
Gautam Singhania, announced the news of his father’s death on the microblogging platform X, formerly Twitter.
“With profound grief and deep sorrow, we inform the passing of Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijaypat Kailashpat Singhania,” said Gautam Singhania in a post.
“A visionary leader, philanthropist, and an inspiring personality, whose legacy will continue to guide and inspire generations.”
Singhania’s funeral will be held at Chandanwadi crematorium at 3.00pm on Sunday.

He is survived by his wife Ashadevi Singhania and children Madhupati Singhania, Shephali Ruia and Gautam Singhania.
Several social media users expressed condolences on Gautam Singhania’s post.
“Goodbye Bossman. I joined J.K.Bombay as a fresher in 1995 and always admired him. A real tredsetter. Rest in peace,” said a user.
“My deepest condolences to you and your family,” said another.
