Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra has been appointed as the new Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Malhotra will take charge as the 26th Governor of RBI on December 11, 2024. The tenure of current Governor Shaktikanta Das is ending on December 10. Malhotra’s tenure as RBI Governor will be for 3 years. The government had nominated Sanjay Malhotra, Secretary of the Department of Financial Services (DFS) as the Director of the Reserve Bank (RBI) in 2022.
