New Delhi: of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha Has openly responded to the alleged “scripted and coordinated campaign” being run against him. He said that for the last few days, he is being attacked with similar language and similar allegations, which is not a mere coincidence but a planned attempt.
Raghav Chadha clarified that initially he had planned not to respond to these allegations, but in view of the fear of spreading confusion due to repeated lies, he felt it necessary to respond with facts.
Charge 1: Does not support the opposition’s walkout
Refuting the first allegation, Raghav Chadha said it was a “blatant and white lie”. He challenged him to name a single day or incident when the opposition had staged a walkout from Parliament and he had not participated in it. He said that CCTV cameras are installed in the Parliament complex and the truth can be easily verified.
Charge 2: Refusal to sign CEC’s impeachment motion
On the second allegation, Raghav Chadha clarified that neither any party leader asked him formally or informally to sign this motion nor is it correct to say that he was the only one who did not sign.
He told that out of total 10 Rajya Sabha MPs of Aam Aadmi Party, 6-7 MPs themselves did not sign this motion. Apart from this, signatures of 50 MPs are sufficient for such a petition in Rajya Sabha, while the opposition has a total of 105 MPs. In such a situation, it is not fair to put all the blame on them only.
Allegation 3: Claim of raising “useless issues” out of fear
Rejecting the third allegation, Raghav Chadha said that he does not go to Parliament to make noise, shout or create ruckus, but to raise public issues. He said that during his four-year parliamentary tenure, along with national issues like GST, Income Tax, unemployment, inflation, he has also raised sensitive topics like water of Punjab, air of Delhi, condition of government schools, public health system, problems of railway passengers and menstrual health in the House.
“I am in Parliament for impact, not for noise”
Raghav Chadha said that Parliament runs on taxpayers’ money and it is his responsibility to convey the voice of those taxpayers to the House. His aim is to “create impact” in Parliament, not “make noise”. At the end of his statement, Raghav Chadha said, “Those who are making false allegations against me today, every lie of theirs will be exposed and every question will be answered. Because I am injured, I am fatal.”
