INDEPENDENCE DAY 2024: Delhi’s Dr. Neeru Kumar suffered from polio when she was young… but this did not dampen her spirits. Padma Shri Dr. Neeru Kumar spends time with women who are socially marginalized… and then finds solutions for them so that they can be included in the women workforce… For example, she made it easier for disabled voters to vote in the Election Commission. Kumar is an unsung hero of the country who has constantly tried to take the country forward. For these social achievements, she was awarded the Padma Shri in 2021. Our colleague Prerna Sharma had a special conversation with her.
