Canaian teenager Victoria Mboko, who clinched the Canadian Open title with her victory over Naomi Osaka on Friday, cut a niche for herself in the world of tennis as she broke multiple records in her successful run to the summit of the event.
The 18-year-old became the second-youngest player in the Open Era to defeat as many as four Grand Slam champions in a single tournament.
The only player to have accomplished the feat at a younger age, is the legendary Serena Williams at the US Open 1999.

Mboko rallied from a set down to register a 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 triumph over the Japanese star to clinch her maiden WTA title in front of adoring home fans.
She ousted former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin in the second round and toppled reigning French Open champion Coco Gauff in the fourth before saving a match point en route to a semi-final victory over former Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina.
Before an ecstatic center court crowd, she converted eight of her nine break points, seizing her fourth win of the week over a Grand Slam winner.

Mboko got her run underway with a win over American Kenin in her opener before Marie Bouzkova fell prey to the Canadian in the Round of 32. The teenager shocked Gauff in the Ro16 before showing Jessica Bouzas the exit door in the quarterfinal of the event. She got the better of Rybakina to move into the championship clash of the event, in which she ultimately wen on to pull off yet another major upset against Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam winner, to clinch the title.
