The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has decided to conduct the UP Board Class 12 intermediate practical examinations on January 29 and 30 as well, after the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP TET) 2026 was postponed.
Earlier, the board had instructed schools not to hold the first phase of practical exams on January 29 and 30 to avoid a clash with the UP TET, which was expected to be held on those dates. However, since the UP TET 2026 will no longer take place in January, the UP Board has now allowed practical exams to be conducted on these dates.
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has scheduled the UP TET 2026 exam on July 2, 3 and 4. Last year, the newly appointed chairman and former Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar had announced that the exam would be held on January 29 and 30, but it was later postponed due to administrative and technical reasons.
According to the official notice, the first phase of UP Board intermediate practical exams 2026 will be held from January 24 to February 1, while the second phase is scheduled from February 2 to February 9. The UP Board theory examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 will be conducted from February 18 to March 12.

Every year, more than 54 lakh students appear for the UP Board examinations. Recently, the board has also made vocational training mandatory for students of Classes 9 and 11. UP Board secretary Bhagwati Singh said that the subject committees have already approved and submitted the curriculum for vocational education, which includes subjects related to information technology and allied fields, electronics, apparel, beauty, and wellness.
