The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration process for the UGC NET December 2025 examination tomorrow, November 7, 2025, by 11:50 PM. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam can apply online through the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
The application correction window will be open from November 10 to 12, 2025, allowing candidates to make necessary changes to their submitted forms. The NTA will announce the exam date, admit card, and city intimation details at a later date.
The UGC NET December 2025 exam will be conducted for 85 subjects in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. This national-level test determines eligibility for the position of Assistant Professor and for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.
The application fee varies by category: General (Unreserved) candidates must pay Rs 1,150, General-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates need to pay Rs 600, and SC, ST, PwD, and Third Gender candidates have to pay Rs 325. Payment can be made online through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
To register, candidates need to visit the official website and click on the “UGC NET December 2025 Registration” link. They must first complete the registration process by entering basic details and creating a password. After that, they can fill in the application form with personal and academic details, upload scanned documents, and pay the examination fee. Once the process is complete, applicants are advised to download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
It is important to note that only one application form per candidate will be accepted, and submissions through any other mode will not be considered valid.
The UGC NET exam is one of the most significant tests for aspiring lecturers and researchers across India, and candidates are advised to complete their applications well before the deadline to avoid any last-minute issues.
