The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has begun the application process for Secondary Grade Teachers today, July 10. Those interested and eligible can apply on its official website at trb.tn.gov.in. The recruitment drive aims to fill 1996 teacher positions around the state which include 1,916 current vacancies and 80 backlog positions.
Through the recruitment drive, Post Graduate Assistants, Physical Directors Grade I, and Computer Instructors Grade I will be hired across Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Schools. The last date to apply is August 12. The exam will be held on September 28.
TN TRB Teacher Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Candidates interested in applying for the recruitment drive must possess a two-year diploma in elementary education and at least 50 per cent marks in Higher Secondary (or equivalent). Alternatively, they can have a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) or a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) after completing class 12 (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent marks.
Additionally, applicants with a two-year diploma in elementary education and a graduation degree are also eligible to apply. Candidates must also have a valid Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test Certificate to qualify for the posts.
Age Limit: General Category must be within 53 years of age. While those belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class Muslims, Backward Classes, MBC/DNC, and DW must be within 48 years.

Step 1: Visit TN TRB’s official website, trb.tn.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the registration link for the positions of Secondary Grade Teachers.
Step 3: Register yourself and fill out the application form.
Step 4: Upload documents.
Step 5: Pay the application fee. Submit.
Step 6: Download and save the acknowledgment page for further use.
TN TRB Teacher Recruitment 2025: Selection Process
The TN TRB secondary grade teacher recruitment process 2025 consists of three stages. Candidates must pass the Compulsory Teacher Eligibility Test during Stage One. Stage two requires students to take a written test. Qualified applicants will proceed to Certificate Verification in the third stage.
