Amidst the assembly elections in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) has demanded the removal of the Returning Officer (RO) of Bhawanipur seat of Kolkata. The party has submitted a complaint letter to Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Aggarwal alleging that the concerned officer is close to BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari. According to TMC, RO’s closeness to Shuvendu Adhikari may affect the fairness of the election process. Subhendu Adhikari is contesting against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from Bhawanipur seat and is also a candidate from Nandigram. Election related updates
