Police said the arrested men have confessed to their roles in the crime, detailing how they killed Rishikesh in Kakori and transported his remains to the river.

Police in Kanpur on Monday claimed to have solved the brutal murder of a 22-year-old man identified as Rishikesh, whose torso was recovered from the banks of the Ganga in Maharajpur on Sunday.
According to a report in The Times of India, Chakeri police have arrested four suspects, while four others, including the prime accused, remain at large.
DCP (East) Satyajit Gupta said the killing was linked to a personal rivalry. Rishikesh was allegedly in a relationship with the sister of the main accused, Pawan Nishad, who had repeatedly warned him to stay away. Ignoring the threats, Rishikesh continued the relationship, which investigators believe triggered the murder.
According to the TOI report, police said that the group lured Rishikesh to Kakori forest on Friday, where his throat was slit. His body was then dismembered, packed into bags, and transported in an e-rickshaw before being dumped from a bridge into the Ganga. While the torso was recovered 22 km downstream in Maharajpur on Sunday, police believe other remains were also discarded in the river.
Rishikesh’s brother Ravi Kumar later filed a murder complaint naming Pawan Nishad, his brother Bobby Nishad, and their associates Naga Nishad alias Prem, Arun Nishad, Nikhil, Satyam, and two others.
Those arrested so far include Mogli alias Prince, Nikhil, Akash alias Aloo, and Rishu Verma. The key accused, Pawan, his brother Bobby, Satyam, and Danny remain absconding.
