Two men have been arrested as part of a major breakthrough in foiling a terrorist plot aimed at carrying out bomb blasts across the country. The arrests have been made during the investigation of a case registered in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.
The suspects have been identified as Siraj-ur-Rehman, 29, from Vizianagaram, and Syed Sameer, 28, from Boyiguda, Secunderabad.
While Siraj had completed his engineering and was looking for a job, Sameer was working for a lift operating company.
According to the officials, the arrested people were allegedly involved in planning attacks and had been under surveillance for suspected links to terror activities.

Recently, in a separate incident, a 26-year-old man was arrested in Haryana’s Nuh district on charges of spying for Pakistan.
The accused, Armaan, was arrested on Saturday for sharing information related to the Indian Army and other military activities with Pakistan through an employee posted at the High Commission of Pakistan in Delhi.
Another man from Haryana’s Mastgarh Cheeka village was also arrested for allegedly providing information to the Pakistan Army and ISI during the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
The 25-year-old was identified as Devendra Singha PG Diploma student. During questioning, he had revealed that he was in contact with the Pakistani intelligence agency, ISI.
A resident from Uttar Pradesh’s Tandar was also arrested on Sunday for allegedly being an agent of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence.
Identified as Shahzad, the man had travelled to Pakistan several times over the years and was allegedly smuggling cosmetics, clothes, spices, and other items across the border.
Besides these, a female YouTuber, Jyoti malhotrawas also arrested from Hisar for allegedly spying for Pakistan. She also posted videos about her travel to Pakistan in March this year. According to the Haryana Police, Jyoti has visited Pakistan thrice.
