Tata Steel has made a profit (consolidated net profit) of Rs 295 crore in the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25. There has been a 43% decline on an annual basis. In the same quarter a year ago, the company had made a profit of Rs 522.14 crore.

Tata Steel has released its October-December quarter results on Monday (January 27). During this period, the company generated revenue of Rs 53,648 crore from operations. There has been a decline of 3% on annual basis. In the third quarter of the financial year 2023-24, the company had generated a revenue of Rs 55,312 crore. The amount received from selling goods and services is called revenue.

Profit decreased by 61% on quarterly basis

Tata Steel had made a profit of Rs 759 crore in the second quarter. In this respect, there has been a decline of 61% in the current quarter. At the same time, in July-September the company had generated a revenue of Rs 53,905 crore. There has been no major change in these three months.

What is standalone and consolidated?

The results of companies come in two parts – standalone and consolidated. Standalone shows the financial performance of only one unit. Whereas, in the consolidated financial report, the entire company is reported.

Tata Steel shares fell 9% in a month

Before the results, Tata Steel shares fell 2.46% today i.e. on Monday (27 January) and closed at the level of 126.55. Tata Steel stock has fallen 4.06% in last 5 days, 8.90% in one month, 22.30% in six months and 6.26% in one year. The company’s shares have declined by 7.45% this year. The market cap of the company is Rs 1.57 lakh crore.
