Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran said that if needed, the company’s processes will be improved.
Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran described the allegations of sexual harassment at TCS Nashik as serious and disturbing. He said that the matter is being investigated by a senior officer and strict action will be taken against the culprits. In its first response on Sunday, the company had said that the company has a ‘zero tolerance’ policy for any kind of harassment. As soon as he got information about the matter, he took immediate action and suspended the concerned employees.
Eight female employees in the office located in Nashik, Maharashtra have made allegations of sexual harassment and forced religious conversion. Police have arrested 7 people including Muslim team leaders and HR manager of the company in this case.

The police presented the arrested accused in Nashik court on 9 April.
The company will also review its process
- Chandrasekaran said that this investigation is being done under the leadership of TCS Chief Operating Officer Arathi Subramanian. Its objective is to bring out the truth of the entire matter and identify the people responsible. The company has taken this matter very seriously.
- After the allegations came to light, the company immediately started taking action. Steps have been taken against the accused employees and full cooperation is being given to the investigating agencies.
- Tata Group has zero tolerance for any kind of unfair practices or coercive policies.
- After this incident the company will also review its process. Reforms will be made where needed and will be strictly implemented.
SIT is investigating
Earlier, the police had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the matter. The eight girls who complained say that their senior colleagues faced mental and sexual harassment and the HR department ignored their complaints.
Police have so far arrested seven people in this case, including a female HR manager of the company.
