Swiggy CEO Rohit Kapoor said, “Who told you why you are working till midnight?”
Rohit Kapoor, CEO of online food delivery platform Swiggy, has opposed the ‘hustle-culture’ in corporate working, calling it a ‘nonsense’ idea.
In an event organized by YourStory, Kapoor said, “Who told you why you are working till midnight?” Go home, you have a dog, a wife, a girlfriend, kids, do something.
This video of Rohit is going viral on social media, in which many netizens have praised him for his normal behaviour.
However, on ‘hustle-culture’, many Indian CEOs including Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy have been advising people to work overtime for better performance in the office.

You don’t need to be crazy to be successful
Kapoor said that giving up everything to become something is a wrong principle. He said that it is not necessary to go crazy while working for success.
One cannot run away from hard work as nothing comes easily in life, but not at the cost of going crazy.
Kapoor’s statement comes at a time when the death of a CA working at EY Pune has revived discussions about work culture.

After this comment of Rohit, people commented a lot on social media…
- ‘Finally someone is talking to all of us like normal people.’
- ‘This idea enables Swiggy to defeat Zomato.’
- ‘It is true, people who cannot complete their work in 8 hours will not be able to complete it in 12-14 hours either.’
- ‘Finally someone said something sensible.’
- ‘Narayan Murthy wants to know his location.’
- ‘People need to talk more about this.’
