Govind Jaiswal’s life was marked by struggles. Govind Jaiswal faced a major setback when his mother passed away in 1995. His father sold 20 of his 35 rickshaws to pay for her treatment but could not save her. Her passing added more responsibilities to his family. Govind Jaiswal’s father’s hard work and sacrifice eventually paid off. When Govind Jaiswal wanted to go to Delhi to prepare for the UPSC (2004-05), they had no money. To overcome this, Narayan Jasiwal sold his remaining 14 rickshaws, leaving only one, which he began driving himself.
