- X Platform Down Globally | Users Report Access Issues; 14,000 Complaints In US

The service of social media platform According to DownDetector, users in many countries of the world including India are having trouble accessing both the app and desktop versions.
According to outage tracking website ‘DownDetector’, users are neither able to see new posts nor are the links shared on the platform loading. Even the timeline is not refreshing.
More than 29,000 users are affected in America.
Within minutes, more than 29,000 users in America reported service being down. Apart from this, complaints of down are also coming in Britain, France and other countries.
According to reports, this was due to a technical glitch in the core server or global service of the platform. However, no official statement has come from the company yet.

‘Can’t retrieve post’ message visible on mobile app
Users using X’s mobile app are facing the most problems. On opening the app, a message appears on the screen – “Can’t retrieve posts at this time. Please try again later.”
The special thing is that during this time, users are getting notifications, which show that activity is happening in the background, but they are not able to access those posts or messages.
More than 4,500 people complained in India
In India, users started complaining about glitches in the platform from around 8:17 pm. Initially around 1,200 people reported, but within just 15 minutes i.e. by 8:30 this number increased to beyond 4,500.
Most of the users say that they are repeatedly trying to update the screen by pulling down (pull to refresh), but the screen is coming blank or just loading.

X’s three outages
- 18 November 2025, X’s service was down from around 5 pm to 9 pm. Users across the world, including India, faced issues accessing key features including login, signup, posting and viewing, as well as premium services.
- 26 April 2024, X was down from around 1.15 pm. 145 people reported problems using X on Down Detector. Users were facing problems in using it on both web and app.
- 21 December 2023, X’s service was down. Users around the world, including India, were facing problems accessing X since around 11 am on Thursday. Instead of the post, users were seeing a message which read ‘Welcome to X.’

Elon Musk bought X in 2022
On October 27, 2022, Elon Musk purchased Twitter (now X). This deal was done for 44 billion dollars. As of today, this amount is approximately Rs 3.84 lakh crore.
Musk first fired the company’s four top officials, CEO Parag Aggarwal, Finance Chief Ned Segal, Legal Executive Vijaya Gadde and Sean Edgett.
On June 5, 2023, Linda Yaccarino joined X as CEO. Prior to this, she was Chairman of Global Advertising and Partnerships at NBC Universal.
