Shiv Sena Candidate Stabbed During BMC Campaign In Mumbai, Hospitalised

The candidate, Haji Salim Quraishi, who is contesting from Ward No. 92, was attacked by unidentified individuals in Gyaneshwar Nagar, Bandra.

A candidate from the Shiv Sena, by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, was attacked with a knife while campaigning for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) election. He was reportedly stabbed in the abdomen.

The candidate, Haji Salim Quraishi, contesting from Ward No. 92, was attacked by unidentified individuals in Gyaneshwar Nagar, Bandra, Mumbai.

According to sources, Quraishi is currently receiving treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital.

No statement has yet been issued by the police, and the Shiv Sena has not commented on the incident.

Voting for the BMC, along with 28 other civic bodies in Maharashtra, is scheduled for January 15, with counting of votes set for the following day.
