Sensex rises by more than 500 points: Nifty also rises by 180 points, metal sector shares gain the most

Today i.e. on 23rd December, the first trading day of the week, Sensex is up by more than 500 points, it is trading at the level of 78,570. Nifty is also up by more than 180 points, it is trading at the level of 23,770.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 28 are rising and 2 are declining. Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 45 are rising and 5 are declining. All the sectoral indices of NSE are trading rapidly. Metal sector is trading with maximum gain of 0.92%.

Asian market also booming

  • In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei is up by 0.92% and Korea’s Kospi is up by 1.63%. At the same time, China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading 0.21% higher.
  • According to NSE data, net sales by foreign investors (FIIs) stood at Rs 3,597.82 crore on December 20. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth ₹ 1,374.37 crore.
  • On December 20, America’s Dow Jones closed at 42,840 with a gain of 1.18%. The S&P 500 index closed up 1.09% at 5,930 and the Nasdaq closed at 19,572, up 1.03%.

Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing’s IPO will open today

The Initial Public Offer (IPO) of Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing Limited will open today i.e. on 23 December. Investors will be able to bid for this issue till December 26. The company’s shares will be listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on December 31.

The company wants to raise a total of ₹500 crore through this issue. For this, the existing investors of the company are selling 31,84,712 shares worth ₹ 250 crore. Along with this, the company is issuing 31,84,712 fresh shares worth ₹250 crore.

The market closed with a decline on Friday

Earlier, on Friday, December 20, the last trading day of the week, the Sensex had closed at the level of 78,041 with a fall of 1176 points. At the same time, Nifty also declined by 364 points, it closed at the level of 23,587.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 20 were up and 10 were down. Whereas, 45 Nifty stocks were in decline and only 5 were up. There was a decline in all the sectoral indices of NSE on Friday. The biggest decline was 3.84% in Nifty Realty, 2.58% in Nifty Bank, 2.42% in Nifty IT and 2.07% in Nifty Auto.
