In today’s business, IT stocks are the biggest rise. Shares like Infosys, Wipro and HCL Tech are trading up more than 1%. There is a slight decline in metal stocks.
US Federal Reserve reduced interest rate by 0.25%
The US Central Bank, Federal Reserve announced a reduction of 0.25% in its interest rates on 17 September. Due to this, the scope of interest rates has now increased between 4.00 and 4.25%. Earlier in December 2024, Fed had cut rates.

- The IPO of VMS TMT, the company that makes Sariya, has opened to investors from 17 September. The company wants to raise Rs 148.50 crore by selling 1.50 crore shares in it. Retail investors will be able to invest from minimum ₹ 14,850 by 19 September. The company’s share will be listed on September 24 in the stock market (BSE-NSE).
- The IPO of Wall Decoration and Lamination Business Company Euro Pratik Sales Limited is open from September 16. The company wants to raise Rs 451.31 crore through this IPO. Retail investors will be able to invest from minimum ₹ 14,820 by 18 September. The company’s share will be listed on September 23 in the stock market (BSE-NSE).
Mixed business in global market
- In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei climbed 1.09% to 45,277 and Korea’s cospie is up 0.94% at 3,445.
- Hong Kong’s Hangseng index is down 0.097% at 26,882 and China’s Shanghai Composite climbed 0.31% to 3,888.
- On September 17, the US Dow Jones closed at 46,018 above 0.57%. Nasdaq composite declined 0.33% and S&P 500 declined 0.097%.
On 17 September Domestic investors ₹ 2,205 Buy crores of shares
- On September 17, Foreign Investors (FIIS) sold shares worth 989 crores in the cash segment. Domestic investors (DIIS) made a net purchase of Rs 2,205 crore.
- So far this month, foreign investors have sold shares worth ₹ 11,329 crore. At the same time, domestic investors have purchased a net of ₹ 32,892 crore during this period.
- In August, foreign investors have sold shares worth ₹ 46,902.92 crore. At the same time, domestic investors made net purchases of Rs 94,828.55 crore during this period.

20 out of 30 shares of Sensex rose, 10 declined. Shares of SBI and India Electronics rose by up to 3%. Shares of Kotak, Maruti, Trent, UltraTech Cement and Tech Mahindra rose by more than 1%. There was a decline in Bajaj Finserv and Titan.
