Today, on December 16, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex opened with a fall of 132 points at the level of 82,000. There is also a decline of 10 points in Nifty, it is trading at the level of 24,750.

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 are declining and 13 are rising. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 31 are declining and 19 are rising. In NSE Sectoral Index, Nifty Realty is trading with a gain of 0.34%.

Mixed business for Asian markets

  • In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei is up by 0.16% and Korea’s Kospi is down by 0.0064%. China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading with a rise of 0.076%.
  • According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) bought shares worth ₹2,335.32 crore on December 13. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) sold shares worth ₹732.20 crore.
  • On December 13, America’s Dow Jones fell 0.20% and closed at 43,828. The S&P 500 fell 0.0026% to 6,051 and the Nasdaq gained 0.12% to 19,926.

There was a rise in the market on Friday

Earlier on Friday i.e. December 13, the Sensex had closed at the level of 82,133 with a rise of 843 points (1.04%). At the same time, Nifty also closed at the level of 24,768 with a rise of 219 points (0.89%).

Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 26 were up and 4 were down. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 41 were up and 9 were down. FMCG sector had the highest rise of 1.29% in the NSE sectoral index.
