The stock market is a boom on the third trading day of the week today i.e. on Wednesday, 14 May. The Sensex is trading at 81,550 by climbing 400 points. The Nifty also has a rise of more than 100 points. This is at 24,700 levels.

Sensex has a rise in 17 out of 30 shares. Tata Steel, Tech Mahindra and Airtel shares have a rise of up to 4%. Whereas, Tata Motors, Asian Paints and Nestle India shares are 2.5% below.

There is a jump in 35 out of 50 shares of Nifty. The NSE metal sector is the highest at 1.42%. In addition, there is a slight rise in IT, banking and realty stocks. Whereas, there is a slight decline in pharma, auto and healthcare.

Tata Steel shares climbed 4.5%

  • Tata Steel shares today have a rise of 4.5%. The company is going to spend Rs 15,000 crore under the Capital Expenditure Plan to increase its business across the country. Apart from India, the company UK and the Netherlands will expansion.
  • Tata Motors shares today fall down by 1.5% after the January-March quarterly results. It is trading at the level of 695. In Q4Fy25, the company has made a net profit of ₹ 8,470 crore. It is 51% less on an annual basis. The operational revenue was ₹ 1.19 lakh crore. Read full results …

Global market boom

  • In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei is trading at 37,875 by climbing 308 points (0.81%). At the same time, Korea’s Kospi is trading at 2,637 above about 30 points (1.2%).
  • Hong Kong’s Hangseng index rose by 295 points (1.28%), trading at 23,403. There is a slight rise in Shanghai composite of China, 3377.
  • On May 12, the US Dow Jones fell 270 points (0.64%) to close at 42,140. Nasdaq Composite reached 19,010 levels after a gain of 302 points (1.61%).

Foreign investors purchased 4,274 crores on 13 May

  • On 13 May, Foreign Investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 476.86 crore in the cash segment. Whereas, domestic investors (DIIs) made a net purchase of Rs 4,273.80 crore.
  • In May, so far foreign investors have purchased Rs 8,626.85 crore in the cash segment and Rs 19,463.62 crore by domestic investors.
  • Net purchases of foreign investors in April stood at Rs 2,735.02 crore. Domestic investors also purchased a net of Rs 28,228.45 crore in a month.

The market fell 1282 points on Tuesday

The stock market declined on the second day of the week i.e. Tuesday, May 13. The Sensex fell around 1282 points (1.55%) to close at 81,148. The Nifty also declined by 346 points (1.39%), it closed at 24,578 levels.

The Sensex declined 25 out of 30 shares. Infosys, Power Grid and Zomato shares closed down by 3.6%. A total of 5 shares including HCL Tech and TCS rose by about 3%. At the same time, Sunfharma, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance, SBI and Tech Mahindra had a slight rise.

35 out of 50 shares of Nifty declined. The IT index of NSE was the biggest decline of 2.42%. Auto, realty, metal and FMCG index fell 1 per cent. At the same time, the media banking and healthcare sector saw a rise of 1.5%.

Stock market fell due to profit recovery

Market experts believe that the market was witnessed on Monday due to reduced geopolitical tension and the sovereign credit upgrade. However, investors are recovering profits today. This shows fluctuations in intraday.
