Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Gets AirDrop Support — Here’s How You Can Quick Share’ Photos, Files With iPhones

Samsung Galaxy S26 series is gaining support for Apple’s AirDrop feature through integration with Quick Share, enabling direct sharing of photos and files with iPhones and Macs. Samsung announced the addition on March 22, with the rollout beginning March 23, starting in regions like Korea and expanding to others including North America, Europe, and more throughout the week. The feature arrives via a software update for the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra devices.

This move supports Samsung’s goal of better cross-platform compatibility between Android and iOS ecosystems. With Samsung and Apple devices frequently topping global sales charts, adoption of Quick Share and AirDrop could make file and media sharing much more seamless across the two major platforms.

The feature previously debuted on Google’s Pixel 10 series in late 2025 before expanding to other Pixels. Samsung also intends to offer the feature to more Galaxy devices later, after the initial rollout on Galaxy S26 devices.

How To ‘Quick Share’ Between Galaxy S26 Devices And iPhones

To activate the feature, users must enable the option in their Galaxy S26 phone’s settings under Quick Share, where a new “Share with Apple devices” option now appears. Once activated, Galaxy phones can detect nearby Apple devices through the Quick Share menu and send files by selecting them. For an iPhone or Mac to discover and send to a Galaxy device, its AirDrop settings must be set to “Everyone.”

Unlike on some other Android devices, this compatibility is not enabled by default on Samsung phones, and users need to manually turn it on. Samsung also notes that for bidirectional sharing, both sides may require the appropriate visibility settings.
