With the total vacancies now raised to 2,588, the Railway Recruitment Board has extended the RRB JE 2025 application deadline to December 10.

The Railway Recruitment Board has extended the application deadline for the ongoing RRB JE 2025 recruitment. Candidates applying for the posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical and Metallurgical Assistant can now submit their online forms until December 10, 2025, up to 11.59 pm. The extension gives applicants more time to complete their registration.
The last date to pay the application fee has also been revised. Candidates can now make the payment until December 12, 2025. In addition to the extension, RRBs have announced an increase in vacancies for Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, under RRB Jammu and Srinagar, and for Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, under RRB Chennai. With this update, the total number of vacancies for the recruitment has increased to 2588.
RRBs have also opened a modification window for candidates who have already registered. Applicants can make changes to their selected RRB, post preferences, zonal railways or production units from November 25 to December 10, 2025. These changes are allowed only within the same RRB.
A second paid modification window will be available from December 13 to 22, 2025. During this period, candidates will not be allowed to change their selected RRB or account details. PwBD candidates who require a scribe can submit their scribe details between December 23 and 27, 2025.

The application fee is 500 rupees for General, OBC and EWS candidates. For SC, ST, disabled, women and ex-servicemen candidates, the fee is 250 rupees. Transgender applicants are not required to pay any fee. The application will be confirmed only after the fee payment is completed.
The selection process for RRB JE includes CBT I, CBT II, document verification and a medical test. Candidates must be between 18 and 33 years of age as of January 1, 2026. A three-year diploma or B.Tech or B.E. in relevant engineering branches is required to apply.
