American professional wrestler Rey Mysterio returned on WWE RAW to announce his inclusion in the Intercontinental Championship ladder game at WrestleMania 42.
Penta will defend his title in a multi-man Ladder Match at the ‘Show of Shows’ against Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh and Rusev, who qualified by beating Rayo Americano, Grayson Waller, Akira Tozawa and Otis.
On Monday’s WWE Raw, Mysterio returned, announcing he had spoken with Adam Pearce and realised he was missing from the match. He will compete for his third Intercontinental Championship, his first since 2009.
Mysterio had been out of action since the Royal Rumble in January because of injury.
Penta may not enter the match as champion, as he is all set to defend the title against El Hijo del Vikingo at an Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event on Saturday, April 11.
The match lineup now features Intercontinental Champion Penta, alongside Mysterio, Evans, Lee, Rusev and McDonagh.
A stacked lineup of stars and rising talent sets the stage for a classic ladder match. At 51, Mysterio’s return adds excitement, though his in-ring bumps may be limited.

Austin Theory defeats LA Knight: Theory faced Knight, with IShowSpeed in the former’s corner. As Knight looked in control, Logan Paul hurled Speed into him, much to the streamer’s frustration.
As Speed tried to retreat up the ramp, The Usos blocked his exit, forcing him back into the ring. The distraction proved costly for Knight, as Theory capitalised and rolled up ‘The Megastar’ for a massive victory.
Bayley beats Lash Legend: Nia Jax, stationed at ringside, tripped Bayley as she attempted to take down Lash Legend. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair then attacked Jax, before Bayley wiped out everyone at ringside.
Legend went for a superplex, but Bayley countered and went for the cover. During the pin, Lyra Valkyria held Legend’s leg, helping Bayley bag the win.
Penta, Je’Von Evans & Dragon Lee defeat Los Americans: All set to defend the Intercontinental Title in a multi-man Ladder Match at WrestleMania, Penta teamed with Evans and Lee, both also slated for the Ladder Match.
Lee went for a Styles Clash on Rayo Americano, but Bravo Americano intervened. The former landed the move on Rayo, only for El Grande Americano to stop him from claiming the win.
Evans sealed the victory for his side with a huge OG Cutter on Bravo.
Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY beat Michin & B-Fab: Ripley teamed up once again with IYO SKY to face Michin and B-Fab. With the former cut off from the action, SKY escaped a slam from B-Fab, rolled her up and bagged the victory.
The moment was short-lived, however, as Jade Cargill stormed in after the match and struck SKY with a kendo stick, leaving Ripley helpless to intervene.
