In the high-profile murder case of businessman Abhishek Gupta, police have arrested Pooja Shakun Pandey, wife of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha (ABHM) spokesperson Ashok Pandey. A week ago, her husband was arrested along with the two shooters the couple allegedly hired.

As per the police, she was arrested on Friday at the Jaipur-Agra Highway. Nearly two weeks ago, a 24-year-old Aligarh businessman was shot dead while boarding a public transport bus, police said.

As per the reports, Pooja Shakun Pandey and her husband allegedly hired the two shooters, Mohd Fazal and Asif, to kill Bike showroom owner Abhishek Gupta’s.

The investigation revealed that Gupta’s murder was orchestrated by a contract killing of Rs 3 lakh.

In a chilling claim by Abhishek’s father, Pooja allegedly had an affair with Abhishek and orchestrated his murder when he wanted to end the relationship. However, police said Pooja and her husband hired a killer to murder the businessman over monetary issues.

Shooter Arrested

Aligarh police arrested the one of the alleged shooters, Asif, who reportedly fired the fatal bullets on September 26 night on the businessman, officials said on Saturday.

Asif was tracked and arrested on Friday night near the Aligarh-Etah highway. Police recovered an illegal firearm and approximately Rs 12,000 from him, and he is confirmed to have a prior criminal record.

Police stated that Asif has provided a detailed account of the sequence of events, which fully corroborates the version given by the first shooter, Mohammad Fazal, who was nabbed on September 30.
