On the occasion of Independence Day, PM Modi will address from the Red Fort for the 11th time today.
The country is celebrating its 78th Independence Day today on 15 August. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the tricolor from the Red Fort for the 11th time today. PM Modi will first go to Rajghat in the morning to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
From Rajghat, Modi will reach Red Fort. Here he will be welcomed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and Defence Secretary Giridhar Armane. After this, he will be given a guard of honour. After flag hoisting and national anthem, the Prime Minister will address the nation.
The theme of the 78th Independence Day is Developed India. Under this, the target has been set to make India a developed nation by 2047, the 100th year of independence.

1037 soldiers will be awarded gallantry and service medals
On the occasion of Independence Day, 1037 soldiers will be awarded gallantry and service medals. This includes personnel from police, fire, home guard and civil defense (HG&CD) and correctional services. According to the Home Ministry, 214 soldiers will be awarded gallantry medals, including one President’s Gallantry Medal (PMG) and 213 Gallantry Medals (GM). Police personnel will get the maximum number of medals, 208.
The President’s Medal for Gallantry has been awarded to Telangana Police Head Constable Chaduvu Yadaiya. He showed bravery in the robbery case that took place on 25 July 2022. CRPF will get the maximum number of 52 gallantry medals. At the same time, 31 soldiers of Jammu and Kashmir Police will get gallantry medals. Apart from these, 17-17 policemen from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, 15 from Chhattisgarh and 12 from Madhya Pradesh will be awarded gallantry medals.
150 women sarpanchs will attend the Independence Day celebrations

This time 6 thousand special guests have participated in the Independence Day program to be held at the Red Fort. In the list released by the central government, special guests have been divided into 11 categories. Apart from these, 18 thousand e-invitation cards have been sent. Invitations have also been sent to 150 women sarpanches. Under the Meri Mati Mera Desh scheme, 400 NSS volunteers, 100 beneficiaries of My Bharat scheme and students of PM Shri schools will also participate. Beneficiaries of government schemes are also participating. The Indian contingent that participated in the Paris Olympics has also been invited to the Independence Day program.
Entry will be given in Independence Day program on showing invitation card
Delhi Police has issued guidelines for people coming to the Independence Day program at Red Fort. Entry to the program will be allowed only through invitation cards. Also, carrying any kind of food items inside the venue is prohibited. Bags and briefcases are also not allowed.
You can carry mobile but camera, binoculars, iPod, radio, handycam, digital diary, iPad and mobile charger are prohibited. Apart from bidi-cigarettes, matchboxes, lighter, perfume and spray are also prohibited. Keys of remote-operated car locks and power banks are also prohibited.

Defense Ministry will plant 15 lakh trees today
On the occasion of 78th Independence Day, the Ministry of Defense will plant 15 lakh trees across the country. This is a part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam (A Tree in the Name of Mother) campaign. It will involve the three armies along with related organizations like DRDO, Defense PSUs, CGDA, NCC, Sainik Schools, Ordnance Factories.
PM Modi had launched the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign on the occasion of Environment Day on June 5. He appealed to all the people of India and around the world to plant a tree as a tribute to the mother.

Modi gave 3 guarantees on Independence Day 2023
Last year, the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort lasted for about two and a half hours. Modi was seen in an off-white kurta and a black jacket. He wore a Jodhpuri bandhani print safa. Which had yellow, green and red colors. PM Modi gave a 90-minute speech. Modi also gave 3 guarantees to the countrymen.
Firstly, in 5 years India will become the third largest economic power in the world, secondly, people living in rented houses in cities will get concessions in bank loans and thirdly, 25 thousand Jan Aushadhi Kendras will be opened across the country. Vishwakarma Yojana will be started.
