The Prime Minister addressed the people at the inauguration program of ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated Asia’s second largest ISKCON temple in Navi Mumbai. This temple is spread over 9 acres. Modi said that to understand India, spirituality has to be assimilated. He said that service is the symbol of true secularism. Like ISKCON, the government is also working in the spirit of service.
PM said- When the country was in the shackles of slavery, Prabhupada ji started a mission like Swami ISKCON. Spirituality and all traditions can be seen in this temple also. A museum of Ramayana and Mahabharata is being built here.
He said;-
India is a vibrant land, has a vibrant culture. The consciousness of this culture is the spirituality here. Therefore, if we want to understand India, we first have to assimilate spirituality.
PM Modi inaugurated the temple and offered a flower garland at the memorial of ISKCON founder Srila Prabhupada Swami.

1. Our government is also working like ISKCON
The way ISKCON is working in the spirit of service, our government is also working in the same way. This spirit of service brings true social justice. Service is the symbol of true secularism. Our government is connecting different pilgrimages and religious places of the country through Krishna Circuit. This circuit extends to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. Replicas of 12 forests of Vrindavan are being made.
2. Prabhupada ji has a special place in my life. Prabhupada Ji Swami has a special place in my life. When he called me at the launch of the edition of the greatest Geeta. I got the result. When the country was in the shackles of slavery, he started a mission like ISKCON.
On this occasion, I am also emotionally remembering the most revered Gopalkrishna Goswami Maharaj. His vision is integrated into this project. The blessings of his immense devotion towards Lord Shri Krishna are attached. Today, even though he is not here physically, we all are feeling his spiritual presence.
3. ISKCON taught the formula to connect with each other
The followers of ISKCON spread all over the world are bound by the thread of devotion to Lord Krishna. There is another sutra that keeps them all connected to each other, which keeps showing direction to every devotee 24 hours. This is the sutra of Srila Prabhupada Swami’s thoughts. He promoted the importance of Vedas, Vedanta and Geeta at a time when the country was in the shackles of slavery. He performed the ritual of connecting Bhakti Vedanta with the consciousness of the common people.
