AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday likened the ideology of Pakistani terrorists to that of Al-Qaeda and said that they believe they have a “religious sanction” to kill others in the name of religion.
Citing Pakistan’s sponsorship of terrorism across the globe, Owaisi said that it is in the interest of world peace to bring back the rogue nation back to the FATF Grey list.
His remarks came while addressing in Algeria, where the all-party delegation visited as part of the Centre’s global outreach to expose Pakistan and present India’s stance against terrorism.

“Pakistan is the epicentre of Takfirism and there is no difference in ideology between the terrorist groups in Pakistan and Daesh and Al-Qaeda. They believe that they have a religious sanction, which is completely wrong. Islam does not allow the killing of any person, and unfortunately, that is their ideology,” he said.
Pakistan On FATF Grey List
Pakistan had been in the Financial Action Task Force Grey list three times — from 2008 to 2010, 2012 to 2015 and from 2018 to 2022.
The last time it was placed in the Grey list was in June 2018 due to strategic deficiencies in its anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) frameworks. The FATF provided Pakistan with a 27-point action plan to address these issues.
However, Pakistan was removed from the Grey list in October 2022. After the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which killed 26 civilians, India is advocating putting Pakistan back on the Grey list.
Owaisi Warns Of Pakistan’s Carnage Across South Asia
The AIMIM MP warned the nations against the spread of Pakistan’s carnage to different parts of South Asia and said that it has to be thrown back into the FATF Grey list.
“It’s not only a question of South Asia. We are the 4th largest economy. What will happen? Do you want all this carnage to spread to different parts of South Asia? No. It is in the interest of world peace to control Pakistan, which is the main sponsor of terrorism. It has to be brought back in the FATF Grey list,” he said.
Citing the benefit of putting Pakistan in the FATF list, Owaisi said, “There was this one terrorist called Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi – no country in the world would allow a terrorist who’s facing a terror charge. He became a father to a son while sitting in prison. The trial progressed immediately when Pakistan was put on the Grey list.”
“Once you bring Pakistan back in the Grey list (of FATF), we will see a decrease in terrorism in India. We’ll see killings coming down. We have the 2018 experience when Algeria and other countries helped India,” the MP added.
India has sent its all-party delegations to various parts of the world to present its stand on terrorism. A delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor will also visit the US this week.
