After this incident, an official of the Airport Authority of India had said that IndiGo’s flight 6E2142 had to face hail in bad weather, after which the pilot declared an emergency. All passengers and crew are safe. At the same time, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has started investigating this incident.

TMC MP Sagarika Ghosh, riding on the aircraft, described the incident as a close experience of death. He said that people were screaming, praying. I felt that my life is over now. When the aircraft landed, we saw that his nose Cone was completely broken. Other TMC MPs Derek O’Brien, Nadimul Haq, Manas Bhuiyan and Mamta Thakur were also in this aircraft.
