India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. In the final played at the Stade de France in Paris on 8 August (Thursday), Neeraj threw the javelin 89.45 meters in his second attempt. This was Neeraj’s best throw this season. Neeraj has won a medal in the second consecutive Olympic Games. Neeraj has become the first Indian player to win another medal after winning gold in an individual event of the Olympics. Neeraj is the first Indian athlete to win one gold and one silver.
Arshad Nadeem sets Olympic record
Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal in men’s javelin throw at Paris Olympics 2024. While Grenada’s Anderson Peters managed to win the bronze medal. Arshad Nadeem threw his second throw of 92.97 meters, which is an Olympic record. Arshad broke the record of Norway’s Andreas THORKILDSEN. Andreas made this record on 23 August 2008 at the Beijing Olympics by throwing the javelin 90.57 meters away.
